Steps for Installing Floor Sockets

Make a Hole in the Floor Surface

Draw the hole pattern with a pencil according to your iron inbow size. Use a grinder to slowly cut along the line about 4-5 cm deep. Strip the cable ends just enough using wire strippers. Connect the cables to the right terminals:

  • Live Wire (black, brown, or red) to the right terminal or brass terminal
  • Neutral Wire (blue) to the left terminal or silver terminal
  • Ground Wire (green yellow) to the ground terminal

Make sure every connection is tight and no copper strands stick out from the terminal. After everything is connected properly, put the socket module into the iron inbow and tighten it with screws.

Finishing and Testing Your Floor Socket

The physical installation is done, but there is one more important step: finishing and testing.

The finishing step is putting on the protective cover. This cover is not just for looks, it is a vital safety part that keeps dust and water out of the socket when not in use.

Put the cover on carefully, making sure the opening mechanism works smoothly. The cover must sit flush and level with the floor surface. If there are gaps between the cover and floor, add silicone sealant to stop dust and water from getting in.

Test the Socket

Before you actually use it, do a complete test. Test it physically by opening and closing the cover a few times. Then do a functional test by turning the power back on from the MCB. Use a test pen to make sure there is current in the live hole.
